I want some CANDY!

Yum, Blog Candy. . .that is. . .

I am approaching hit number 50. . .yes I'm still a baby, but everyone has to start small right? To celebrate, I'm going to giveaway something nice. I can't tell you yet, becuase it's a surprise, but I promise it will be nice. So with that in mind. . .

Here's what I'm asking:

Let me know what advice you have for a new blogger and what your favorite SU stamp set is. A winner will be announced Friday. . .the day my new SU Demonstrator kit is scheduled to arrive!

This is a card I watercolored with my ink pads and Aqua Painter. The Aqua Painter is nice because you fill it with water, touch it to your ink pad, and then color. Between colors, just squeeze onto a papertowel to get the remainder of the color out you just finished. Cleanup is a breeze. I talked about the Aqua Painter on Mama Stamper's Blog, as she is offering candy too by responding to the question "What is your favorite SAB set and favorite SU technique.

Bye for now and Good Luck!!!!

Carol, CONGRATS on your new blog and on becoming a new SU demonstrator. You will love being part of the SU family, I know that I do. I'm approaching my 1st year anniversary and it has been one of the best years of my life! There is no way I could pick just one set as my favorite - I love every single one I own and many that I don't own - yet! The current set I use most often would probably be Sincere Salutations. As for advice on blogging - hang in there! I've only been doing it since just before the New Year and it is so much fun and it will also push you to produce so that you can have something to put up there. I have been doing a lot of the challenges on Splitcoast and also on some of my favorite blogs. It has really helped me to push that creative envelope. Best of luck to you and I'll be back to visit whenever you put new things up! ~chris

Hi Carol. Congrats on your new blog and becoming a demo. I do not have a blog but I have just recently started blog surfing so my advice comes from that perspective. Do you have a SCS gallery? If so, I would suggest putting a link to your blog in your signature line...that is how I have found most of the blogs that I have visited. As of this moment I would say I am grabbing for the PRICELESS set the most. That will change soon I am sure but I think it will remain one that I will reach for regularly because of the great flourishes.
Best of luck!

Congrats to you on your blog! My advice (I still consider myself a newbie) is to keep at it. It can be discouraging at the beginning, until people "find" you. To help, enter other blogger challenges, and link to your blog when you post your creation in their comments. It's fun and it works! Keep up the good work :)

My fave SU! set is Baroque Motifs right now. That could change tomorrow :)

Congrats on your new blog. I just started mine 1/19/08. It's very easy to get caught up in blog land!

I don't have a favorite SU stamps. HOWEVER, punches are a different story! I love the designer label, round tab, spiral, slot, word window ... I could go on and on and on!

Congrats!!! My advice is to visit other blogs and leave comments. That way, people will visit you and leave comments too. My favorite SU set is the now retired Party Punch. I have yet to receive my SU catty that I ordered on Dec. 31 (my demo is a little slow!!), so I don't know what's in the new catty yet. Thanks!

Congratulations and welcome to Blogland! My only advice would be to keep your blog simple and relatively free of too many widgets/chicklets/gadgets/slide shows that take SO long to load, even with a DSL connection. And to get your blog name out there, go to other blogs and post comments as well as join in the Blog Comment thread on SCS. And just keep at it - you have built it and they will come. At the moment my favorite SU set is So Many Scallops from the SAB, but then I am addicted to scallops.

Way to go Carol. Wishing you much success with your new SU business. My favorite set at the moment is always. I think it is very versatile. Love that bird! One of the things I look for in a blog that I read is consistency in posting. It doesn't have to be every day, but not just every once in awhile either. I have many in my favorites and I like to view them about once a week and I sure hope there is someting new to see. Darlene

Hi, Carol! What a great way to put yourself out there! How fun! I am pretty new to blogging myself, but I do have what I believe to be a good tip...visit other blogs and leave comments and if you really love them, add them to a list of faves and let them know. I've made a big effort to get out there by discovering new blogs and branching out beyond just stamping for inspiration (scrapping, papercrafts, etc). The response has been wonderful and I've met really amazing people and already develoop friendships with many ladies! It's so fun to share with others what we love! I am inspired by your blog already! Thanks for the opportunity to get to know your blog and for some candy! ~Hugs~

oops, I forgot to say my favorite SU! set, which right now is a tie between Embrace life and Lovely As A Tree. Embrace Life because is new and frest and so great for some many styles and themes. Tree set I just keep coming back to! It's great for a masculine card or a sympathy or just a peaceful card. Also awesome for scene cards--I use it in almost every scene background! Congrats on your new SU! adventure! My great friend, Simonne just joined as a demo a couple weeks ago. Maybe if you want to chat with her about the life of a new SU! demo, her blog is http://mysweetescape.blogspot.com

I am a total numbskull! I gave you the wrong address for Simonne's blog. http://simonne-mysweetescape.blogspot.com/
is the correct one. Just had to let you know. so sorry!

Congratulations on your blog and becoming a demo! For blogging, I don't if my two cents are worth it, but I'll you what I look for in blogs: cards! I love seeing new techniques, layouts, colour combos etc. I also love blogs that post daily (not that I do this!!) As for a favorite set, that is so hard!! I go through moods but I guess the set that I use the most is warm words. Good luck with your bussiness and can't wait to see more of your creations!

I'm thrilled that you have become a member of the blogging community! My advise is to make your blog your own & have fun with it:) I'm sure you will have so much fun being a SU demonstrator as they have such a wonderful product. I think Baroque Motif is my favorite set but I have so many favorites that it's hard to chose. Best wishes to you in both of your new endeavors.

It's hard to give you blogging advice since I've only recently started. My current favorite SU stamp is 'All Scallops'.
I wish you many posts and a lot of blogging fun in the future!
